Tamar Felsch, 15, was recognised at the Australian Football Awards earlier this month when she received the ME Bank Green Card for Fairer Play Award.
Felsch, who is in year 9 at the International Football School at Mt Penang, was thrilled to be recognised on her chosen sport's night of nights.
And it wasn't just for her feats on the field, with Felsch also befriending a bully through her love of soccer.
In Year 6, Felsch was the victim of bullying by a student at school whenever her team beat the bully's team.
Instead of retaliating, Felsch invited the student home to help with her soccer skills, showing her how to shoot for goal and juggle.
As a result, the two became friends and still are to this day.
Felsch was happy to offer some advice to others faced with a similar situation.
``Don't go down to their level; stay calm,'' she said.
Felsch continues to mentor players to help them improve and also referees Futsal and soccer matches.
Terrigal club president Sharon Baxter said Felsch was an ``outstanding role model for other young footballers''.

As you can imagine, the running of a club the size of Terrigal, with so many teams and players requires the efforts of many individuals throughout the season. We would like to encourage all senior players and parents of junior players to attend our forthcoming AGM and contribute to making 2014 a great season. All positions on the committee will be vacated on the night. Some positions need filling and the more people who can help out, the less work for all. Not all positions on the committee require significant amounts of your time, so please feel free to come along. Understandably, the club cannot be run without the help of our members. TUFC Committee

The Mariners Mates membership cards will be mailed direct to the home of each of the children who played in the grade 5 to 16 teams this past season. The Committee of Terrigal United are very excited to be able to provide this gift and hope that you all enjoy attending many Central Coast Mariners home games this year to support our Champion team.

All the boys played extremely well and never stopped until the final whistle. They kept us on the edge the entire game and with only a minute to go in regular time and the score 1 – 0 we thought we had done enough. Unfortunately, Kanwal scored to level the scores and send the game into golden goal. The boys picked themselves up like true champions and within minutes of extra time sent the crowd into a frenzy and bagged their second goal. Final score Terrigal 2 def Kanwal 1. It was a fantastic effort by all the players and they truly deserve the title “PREMIERS 2013”.
“WELL DONE & CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL PLAYERS & BRAD THE MIGHTY COACH”
Thanks Sharon and all committee members for your support throughout the season at various stages. You certainly made my job easier with all your assistance and it is very much appreciated.
